Now, you need to know that I’ve been guilty of one or two of these myself in the past. So, I understand if you’ve made one of these yourself, but it’s time to move on.
It is a bit of a catch 22 situation. The big ticket sites, such as weightloss, smoking, health etc… do draw a lot of interest and they are huge online markets earning people fortunes. The problem is that they are just too big for new players to enter and more importantly, it just takes so much time to make any money, if at all.
Ok, now the list:
1. Dog Training
This market has been so saturated, that it has become a cliche in the internet marketing world. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a huge industry and that’s the problem. The buyer of one of these sites will have more chance of winning the lottery two weeks in a row, than making a success of establishing a dog training blog.
Stay away from any of the BIG markets. It’s just too hard. You’re better off investing the same amount of time in 5 profitable, yet more manageble markets.
2. Clickbank Ready sites built on MRR or PLR
These packages are bought for around $0.50 ea and there are literly hundreds of copies online. Flippa is littered with these sites, where people will just attach them to a new domain that kind of relates to the package and sell them to unsespecting buyers for between $300-$600.
If you want to sell clickbank sites, create packages that are clickbank working instead of just clickbank ready.
3. Trade Mark sites
CocaCola.info might seem like you’ve hit the jackpot, BUT a trade mark owner can just come along and take your site away from you at any time. There is some grey area around all of this and I’m by no means qualified to offer legal advice, I’m just a drummer, but it’s something you don’t want to get involved in, so stay away from this one. I’ve avoided it from the start, but I’ve heard enough of the stories.
4. Weightloss
See Dog Training above
5. Any site that you wouldn’t buy for yourself in a million years!
If you’re making websites to sell, chances are you have some understanding of how things work. I’m not talking about sites that you’ve developed and want to move on because they are just sitting there gathering dust. I’m talking about sites that you just wouldn’t touch with the proverbial 10 foot pole.
Don’t inflict these sites on others, just for a quick buck. Repeat business on flippa is huge. Sell sites of value and people will come back for more.
What else can you add to this list?
