These sites are the epitome of pretty picture sites. They are built on flash, are expensive to make and offer next to zero SEO value. Granted, they appear “high end” and I guess that is their intention.
Google does not care about the pretty pictures on your site and the truth is, neither do most of your visitors.
It’s all about the content and not the context. When we visit a site we want quality content that answers the questions that landed us there in the first place, we don’t care how pretty it is.
Having said that, you don’t want ugly, hard to navigate sites either.
Use worpress direct to set up and run your sites. It is still the best way to set up an SEO blog and the themes on offer more than do the job.
Study flippa’s just sold section and in particular the sites that have sold for over $500.
Notice how most are fairly simple looking sites.
There’s a reason for that. It is all about the content.
People visit a site to have a problem solved.
When you are selling websites, focus most of your energy into building sites with good content, quality links and only populate your site with one income stream. You don’t want to give too many choices to the visitor and you want to leave room for the new owner to renovate a little.
I find adsence works best when setting up new sites. It’s quick, easy and google know a thing or two about finding you adds that match your site’s keywords.
It is a case of less is more when it comes to your site’s layout.
